It is learned that China's substation automation has gone through a long and tortuous process, and now it is becoming more mature and rational. This has created an unprecedented opportunity for the development of UHV substation automation system. The automation system with advanced technology, reliable operation, reasonable structure and high performance price ratio will bring considerable economic and social benefits for our power grid operation.

With the standardization and openness of the functional structure, substation automation system is becoming more and more prominent, so we must pay enough attention to it. The "black box" in this typical scheme provides a tracking tool for the system. In addition, the standardization of communication protocols, the digitalization and speed of communication channels, the networking of communication structure and the improvement of anti-jamming ability of the communication equipment have made notable progress.

Problems to be paid attention to in the construction of ultra high voltage substation automation system:

1. In terms of system integration, we should emphasize function integration, module coordination, data sharing and resource sharing. In addition to reliability requirements, we need to reduce all unnecessary redundancy to improve system reliability and cost performance.

2.Consideration of reducing investment in construction, we should consider the following aspects: reducing the land area, reducing the number of two connection cables, reducing the number of devices, reducing the number of components used in each device, reducing personnel and reducing subsequent maintenance costs, we should consider the following aspects: reducing the land area, reducing the number of two connection cables, reducing the number of devices, reducing the number of components used in each device, reducing personnel and reducing subsequent maintenance costs, which can fully reflect the economic effect that using the new machines.
3.
On the standardization of the system, not only the communication interface hardware and communication protocol should be standardized, but also the physical structure size and wiring terminals of the module should be standardized as far as possible, so as to facilitate the expansion and upgrading of the system in the future.

4. For the object oriented problem, there is a unified and clear definition of the object. Substation oriented, voltage oriented, equipment oriented intervals, physical monitoring objects and other different base points, will produce different design ideas, resulting in a completely different system structure.
