According to the design structure of power meter, the electric meter can be divided into two kinds:
1. mechanical electric energy meter:

2. electronic energy meter:
It ' s a new type of electric energy meter developed in recent years , which is called static electricity meter, the purpose of using IC time chip to measure electrical energy is achieved. Its advantages are high measurement accuracy, no restriction of the position of the installer and no noise. A typical product is multifunction power meter.
The multi - functional power meter is developed on the basis of digital power meter, with the measurement of electric power is realized by multiplier.
The application range lies in some places which require high precision and high reliability data , and is the intelligent power distribution instrument product with high cost performance .
It is simple to say that the multi-function electric power instrument has the advantages of the old type power meter: high accurancy, stable and realiable, elecommunications.
